SENATOR GORDON DONATES TRAINING EQUIPMENT TO OSTC
Celebrating his 64th birthday with his hometown friends and supporters, Senator Richard Gordon again donated several sets of training equipment to Olongapo City at the program organized by his brother, Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr. for the senator’s birthday held at the Olongapo City Convention Center last August 4, 2009.
Senator Gordon brought two (2) SMAW welding machines, one (1) TIG welding machine and 10 sets of computers for the Olongapo City Skills Training Center (OSTC). The said donation was the third batch of equipment that the senator provided for the OSTC.
“These welding machines will add up to the OCSTC’s equipment and we will use the computers for our call center and foreign languages training programs,” explained Councilor Edwin Piano, director of OSTC.
“My brother supports the city’s aspiration to train and prepare Olongapeños for the skill required by leading employers today such as the shipbuilding and call center industries,” said Mayor Gordon.
